Smells of chocolate and coffee, and tastes about the same. Good medium to full body with a creamy feel. Taste sticks around, which is nice. Beer Club favorite for March 2008 tasting. | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 9, 2008 Visually a step above Blackout due to a creamy tan head, this beer pours a deep mahogany. Aroma is charcoal and Starbucks. Flavor is all porter, a little hops in there that made it unique but doesn’t have the richness of Olfabrikken or Alpha Klaus. Glad I had an opportunity to try. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Bottle poured into a tulip glass produced nice tan head that dwindled to a thick lace all set on top of a black body
Aromas of coffee and roasted malts a little chocolate and some hops
Sweet flavors of malts and coffee with a light hop bitter. This is a really well balanced in the flavor department
Medium body with a good amount of carbonation but still smooth
It has good drinkability I could handle a few of these a night

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 5, 2008 Easly my favorite Porter. Pours smoothly and produces an ample head. Has a strong and striking taste, deep in flavor and most certainly long lasting. Miver (575), WillowStreet, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Bottle. A clear, ruby-brown porter with a beige head. Dryish aroma with dark chocolate, bitter chocolate and some sweetness as well. Chocolate, roasted malt and a little touch of alcohol in the aroma. Medium to full body, rather dryish and dusty. Fruity and chocolatey finish. "Quite nice" I wrote in my notes, but that is sure an understatement. A really easy drinkable porter with lots of flavor and not so much alcohol. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Bottle. Dark red, almost black body with a medium beige head. Aroma is slightly roasted malt with a hint of liquorices. Flavor is smoked malt, some coffee and a pleasant bitterness. OK, but not fantastic. patrick767 (2051), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 25, 2008 bottle - Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. It smells of coffee and dark roast malt. The coffee accented roast malt flavor has a good hops balance. it’s medium bodied and finishes with light, lingering bitterness. Excellent porter.
