Nov 30, 2007 Pours brown-black with about 2 fingers of tan-cream head. Roasted malt and hazelnut odor. A hint of dark chocolate- starts off smooth, and ends up with a coffee and burnt toast aftertaste. Quite good.

Nov 27, 2007 Black color. Persistent thin layer of foam. Some aroma of roasted malt and ashes, burnt paper, light rhubarb. Smooth mouthfeel, with a good flavor of caramel, dark chocolate and delicate roasted malt; quite sweet. Good.

Nov 24, 2007 12 oz bottle. Dark brown, almost black with a nice tan head. Caramel, chocolate and a hint of coffee in the nose. Big malty flavors, lots of chocolate and coffee, very nicely balanced bitterness.

Nov 22, 2007 Pours dark brown with a red sparkle and a creamy tan head that doesn’t stick around long. Smells of chocolate, toffee, some figs and raisins, hints of licorice, coffee, some peppery splashes. Taste yields a layered malty backdrop with some nice accompanying malt. Roasty qualities are also present, but not overly done. Mouthfeel is slick with some nice fruit and spice at the finish.

Nov 21, 2007 Bottle. A dark red brown beer with a beige head. Dusty caramel malt, fruity, chocolate and light coffee aroma and taste. Medium body with a dry finish. A good porter!
