This outstanding porter pours deep black, blessing your nose with a mingling of semisweet chocolate notes offset by grains. The palate is unsweetened chocolate frolicing with with light oat notes and a pleasing coffee accented hops and just the right level of alcohol warming. One of the best porters I’ve gotten my hands on in a while.

This porter is different in that it is really hoppy for the style. I like it that way.

12 oz. Bottle at the Coney (6/3/07, June Beer of the Month). Pours dark brown/black with a small, thick head, chocolate color. Roasted aroma, hint of coffee. Tastes of roasted malt with a predominant hint of chocholate and coffee. Pretty damn good.

12oz bottle. Chocolate brown pour with small head, smells of well-roasted coffee. Minimal lacing, average carbonation. Very tasty, following the chocolate and coffee hints early. Good porter.

(Bottle) Pours a brown color with tan head. Aroma of cocoa and expresso. Taste is very similar, with a nice full palate. Remarkably smooth tasting. Expected a little more alcohol in this one, but a good session beer.

Bottle, thanks to adrian910ss, pours a coke brown with a thin dark tan head that quickly drifts to a thin covering, minimal lacing. Nice aroma of coffee and chocolate. Taste follows aroma very well, with a slight hoppy presence to balance the malts. Palate is medium carbonation and mouthfeel. This is one nice porter, and definitely one to keep on regular rotation.

12 ounce bottle. Best before 8/26/07
Pours dark brown with a medium brown stiff foamy head. The aroma is huge with coffee with creamer and chocolate. The flavor is full of coffee and choclate with big time bitterness. Creamy mouthfeel. A wonderful beer.
