| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 9, 2009 Bottle. Dark, fairly viscous, with a nice tan head. Aromas of chocolate, plums, coffee, and malt. Flavor is packed with rich chocolate malt, with a little roasty coffee note in the background, maybe a little smokiness. Palate is just barely on the thin side of where I’d like it. Overall, a unique and very nice porter, and well-priced in a sixer. weihenweizen (34), West Virginia, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 1, 2009 Pours black with small head. Smells of malts, coffee and chocolate. Taste follows the nose with coffee, chocolate and a small hop bitter. Finishes with a long semi dry bitterness that lingers. Good sipper. inkubus27 (251), Highland, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 30, 2009 Overall, I expected a lot more from this. But it was basically a non-descript beer. Mild aroma ( typical porter, roasted malt and coffee). Mild flavor’s, no bitterness. Mild mouthfeel. This was just all around average to me, but would make a great session beer. jcos (52), Maryland, USA

Nice sweet, chocolaty aroma. Darker mahogany color. Nice mildly hoppy taste with decent malt. A nice tasting porter. I enjoy this beer, and wasn’t a big porter fan going in. RHeastings (417), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 16, 2009 Enjoyed from a 12oz bottle on many occasions. The beer pours a deep brown to just slightly lower in SRMs than totally black with a tan head. Carbonation is med-low. The nose is initially of coffee and roasted malts, with some malt character, and just a slight touch of hops. The palate is roasty and coffee-like up front, and then transfers into a clean American-style porter on the back-end. Slight mid-crystal malts are detectable in the mid-palate to finish. The latter is clean and semi-dry. Overall, a classic robust porter. joeyplush (337), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA

Roasted caramel malt and toffee aroma, Dark brown and ruby appearance. Chocolate caramel taste followed by a slightly bitter hoppiness. Very good beer.
