Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

12oz bottle. Pours a dark amber, almost red with a 2 inch head. Sweet and roasty aroma. Flavor is sweet caramel with subtle hops on the finish. Not my favorite style, but very well put together.

Bottle@Home. Fruity, herbal aroma with a hint of rust. Amber color, beige head, good lace. Very sweet, malty, light bitter, fruity, hint of cookies. Quite full, almost syrupy. Well balanced.

Amber pour with gooey head and lace. Aroma of roasted malt. A maltiness balanced by a decent medium bitter. Medum bodied with good carbonation. A pretty special beer overall.

Pours a beautiful ruby/amber with a thin white head. Aroma is dominated by malt, with some notes of caramel and some roast. Like the aroma, flavor is dominated by malt balanced by a good hop finish. Another enjoyable offereing from GLBC.

12 oz bottle, about 1.5 weeks past its best by date. Pours clear amber with a small white head. Malty biscuit aroma, slightly sweet honey. Sweet honey biscuit flavor with a touch of hops. Honey mostly gives way to more biscuit after a few sips. This is a good, flavorful lager.

Draught @ Cole’s. Clear amber with thick off-white head. Bright hoppy aroma over a bready body. Quaffable with medium carbonation. Nice bready character. Diggin it.
