Disappointed that they have decided to distribute the Holy Moses instead of this beer. Nicely hopped with carmelized malts. I have enjoyed this for years, and will now have a harder time finding it. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Sep 22, 2006 Bottle. Dark amber body with a thick film of bubbles. Nose-apple, hay, caramel. Taste-sweet husk, lactic, hay, low-medium bitterness, apple juice, lightly syrupy. Pretty good, but can be easily summed up in four words: apple juice and husk. This one got sort of lost in the bunch at the great lakes samplefest. Got to see the bullet holes on the tour by the by... anyway, the beer pours a nice dark amber. Spicy raisin hops and dark fruit on the palate. Moderately thorough roasted malts and some lighter dry malts thrown in. A smooth brew that I will need to redrink. gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA
