Aug 23, 2006 Pours amber in color (shocking huh?). Wonderful malt aroma. Fairly good mouthfeel. Good malt center with nice bitterness at the end. Great balance.

Aug 21, 2006 Pours a red/amber color, with a frothy off-white head. Aroma is of sweet caramel, earthy notes, and malt. Flavor is of caramel, cane sugar, dark fruit, and mild hops. The finish is nice and crisp. Very well balanced.

Aug 14, 2006 My 600th rating... weee! Anyways big thanks to Degarth for sending this to me in my SecretSanta box. Great reddish-mahogony colored body along with a nice creamy white head. Nice wood chip and malty aroma. Wood chip, hoppy with malt taste, nice light fruit accents. Sweet with a light spice ending.

Aug 8, 2006 Updated: Sep 29, 2006Malty, grain, yeast, green olive and licorice. Not too much carbonation. Acidic with subtle sweet counterbalance and body is not too heavy. Even citrus. Many notes without being muddled. Not my thing but well made.

Jul 26, 2006 Bottle. Pours a nice rich dark amber color with a medium off white head. Very nice hop aroma. Taste of toasted malts with a hint of brown sugar. Finishes with a bit of caramel and hoppy bitterness on the after taste. A great beer from Great Lakes!

Jul 23, 2006 Updated: Oct 2, 2006bottle. Aroma: Toasted malts, and a hint of roasted nuts. Also getting a touch of fresh grain. Appearance: Rich coppery red and clear. Head was full and off-white, but diminished quickly. Light lacing. Flavor: Lots of toasty malt with notes of citrus and grass. Also getting a little brown sugar. Bitterness was just right and melded well with the malt flavor. Palate: Medium bodied. Moderate carbonation. Finish was crisp, but could have been a little crisper. Overall: A nice, smooth, easy drinking beer with enough flavor to keep it interesting.
