TheEpeeist (1429), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 20, 2006 12 oz bottle. Clear amber brown with an airy, dirty tan head that quickly deflates. Woody and nutty; some molasses and green olives. Mild carb yields to licorice and orange pith, but subtle. A new style for me. Like a porter-lager mix. Somewhat flat. TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA Jul 16, 2006 Deep copper pour with a thin whit-sh head. NIce Malty Aromoa. Nice malty falvor, maybe some fruit. Definatly has a bitter bite to it. Good Beer, easy to drink. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 14, 2006 Thanks to Secret Santa for this one. Pours deep coppery with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of muffiny malts, caramel, toffee, some vinous notes, and some hopcitrus. The flavor is caramel malty, with some hopcitrus and vinous winey notes, along with some slight nuts and fruit. moejuck (1165), Ohio, USA Jul 13, 2006 The Elliot Ness has a great dark amber color to it. I like the change of pace you go through drinking this lager. It has a great smooth mouthfeel with a nice sweet malt taste. The end is has a sharp bitter edge to it, as does the aftertaste. A nice beer to sit and sip on, and another great product from the Great Lakes Brewery."
JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 11, 2006 Thanks OhioDad. Gorgeous clear deep amber beer, thin off-white head.
