Didn’t like this as much as their other lager on tap, but it was pretty good. It does have a very smooth drinkability, and fantastic colour and aroma.

This bottled brew poured a large sized head of foamy fine to medium sized mostly lasting light brown colored bubbles that left behind an unnoted lacing. The body contained average carbonation, was unnoted and dark caramel brown in color. Its aroma contained notes of mild caramel malt . Its mouth feel is initially tingly smooth with a lingering palate and a caramel malt aftertaste. Its flavor contained malty caramel notes. The flavor lasts a long time into the finish. Very yummy.

Pours a clear amber with a thick off-white head, lasting, nice lacing. Aroma is caramel, toffee, and a hint of grassy hops. The flavor is rich and malty, caramel and grapes. The mouthfeel is soft and round, finish is slightly bitter. Nice lager.

Bottle (12oz). Poured bright clear ruby-mahogany with a smallish diminishing head. Aroma of gentle fruity yeast, mild hops, sweetish light roast malt. Taste is much the same, starts a bit sweet and finishes slightly hop-bitter. Mouthfeel is slightly watery, sory of flat, average body for the style I guess. Very nice vienna.

The name says it all, Eliot Ness, the man that took out the ulitmate gangster.....This beer takes out the ultimate, nonchallaging beers out there. If your ready for a change, sit yourself down to a cold Eliot Ness beer. Perhaps, one of the best Amber Lagers out there....period.

This beer introduces itself with a mild aroma of yeast. It is a mildly cloudy dark copper color with a good head. The taste is gentle upon entering the mouth and produces a small bitter hoppy taste that continues to be smooth even after swallowing.

Pours a dark amber, with light beige and tarnished brass notes. Head is initially large and beige, receding eventually to a light covering, but providing for a fair amount of lace. Aroma is packed with intense bready and nutty malts. Yeasty, doughy, grainy and quite strong. Light soily hops and touches of caramel and toffee, but lots of breadiness. The flavor is quite similar, having a good amount of breadiness (brown bread) and plenty of nuts and caramel. Light notes of vanilla and a moderate yeastiness on end. The flavor is quite strong and really builds on the your palate. Low acidity, which is somewhat surprising, as these highly bready notes can often times impart that. Texture is lightly creamy/watery, with lively, but unobtrusive carbonation. I almost think I note some alcohol in the finish, after it has warmed significantly, but perhaps not (was sort of a peaty, dry, whiskey note). Could stand some crisper hops, or more of a lager yeast bite, to clear the palate and the texture can be a bit too aerated/bubbly at times.

Bottle out of Great Lakes sampler. Dark amber color with a creamy off white head. Aroma sweet, also some spiceness as well. Slightly floral scent. Head is soft and creamy. Taste is a bit sweet, some toffee and maybe caramel. Some fruitiness like apples. Tiny bit of hops. The mouthfeel of the beer is excellent. Definitely the best Lager I’ve had so far.
