| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours a rich amber with a thin head. Aroma is sweet malts and yeast. Notes of bread, pine, caramel, and hops come out as well. Taste is hoppy than I expected, but the finish is dry and stronf with malts and dark fruit. I am not a big lager fan, but this one is drinkable. madvike (314), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 8, 2009 Bottle - Beautiful copper pour with a big foamy head. Sweet caramelly malt on teh nose -- smells clean and crisp. Taste is hoppier than I expected -- there’s a good snap when the beer hits the back of your mouth. I actually want a bit more malt to balance it, though it’s still very drinkable. Smooth and non-offensive in the mouth. Nice, clean, and sessionable. apingos (77), Rockford, Illinois, USA

Balanced like most Great Lakes brews I’ve tried. Very stout like and very drinkable. Haslinger (642), Syracuse, New York, USA

I poured this bottle into my Pilsener glass and it produced a finger worth of white head that turned to a thick lace. The body of the brew was amber to brown.
Aromas of caramel malts and bread filled my head. The flavor was malt forward and with a light bitter finish. It had a nice light and crisp feel in my mouth with great carbonation.
I really like drinking these great lagers; it is a great change of pace
