shawnm213 (882), South Bend, Indiana, USA Mar 30, 2009 Good beer to give a non beer drinker. i really like this beer. will drink again FlssmrBrewAlum (1053), Lisle, Illinois, USA Mar 15, 2009 12 oz. bottle from the Binnys Singles Rack (Orland Park, IL). I may have a cellar full of beers that need to be drank.. but somehow I can’t pass the Binny’s Singles Rack! Curses! Pours a beautiful sunstruck copper, dark notes, transparent, well carbonated, with moderate khaki head that subsides to a decent amount and laces. Aromas apparent straight from the pour with very nice toasty malt notes, biscuits, toffee, and bready notes without being too intimidating. Light hoppy bouquet, but malt dominant. Initial has a good body for the style, light but sustaining, having nice bready and biscuity malts balanced with a very formidible bitter noble hoppiness. Very well balanced, light, yet extremely flavorful as the malt sticks to the palate, and the hops balance and stick to the aftertaste. This is a wonderful sessioner! Cheers! cblado (146), Wisconsin, USA Mar 11, 2009 Wow! Just wanted to get that out there first. Ok. 12 oz bottle, pours a lovely reddish amber color, significant head, great lacing. Aroma is caramel malt, toffee. Flavor is a strong berry taste up front, surprisingly, followed by a wash of malt and hops. Caramel aftertaste. Body is a bit thin, but not too thin. Overall, this is excellent. poolboy (66), Lafayette, Indiana, USA Feb 27, 2009 A typical micro but a great brew pub if you get the chance. Amber color, creamy head. Maybe a touch of spice. Good but nothing special. BroSpud (583), , Massachusetts, USA Feb 25, 2009 Draft. Included as part of a sampler at the brewpub in Cleveland. I remembered liking pretty much everything but do not remember specifics. Do remember that they have an excellent brewpub with excellent beer. mrmojo (37), Edmond, Oklahoma, USA Feb 21, 2009 Bottle bought in WI.
Good rust amber color. Nose - mix of pines and sweetness like caramel. Flavor - Roasted malt, sweet apples, broen sugar. Finish - Hops dryness with bitter-sweetness. Interesting! nuplastikk (1158), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Feb 19, 2009 12oz bottle. A deep unfiltered amber-brown color. Malty brewery mash smell. Amber and caramel malts dominate the flavor, with a far off balanced hopping which adds some crispness. Smooth and sweet. This one is past the best by date and shows in the aroma, I certainly remember the fresher version with higher regard. jamvin23 (162), chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 15, 2009 Bottle. Pours amber with a creamy head. Aroma: Sweet malty nose. Malty with just a little hop bite at the end.
