| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 28, 2005 Diminishing white head, clear earthy amber bnody. Leafy, slightly caramely nose. A slight earthiness matches the generous cerealic malts with ease. Dark grapes and biscuit flavors are plentiful, but I certainly expected one of the top vienna to be richer, it is a fairly hoppy example, in a most leafy way, possibly spalt hops or a similar type. Slightly vegetal, heavy munich malt does, almost roasty at times, dryish. light bodied, gentle soft carbonation. Magicdave6 (5558), London, Greater London, England

Alround rating: The best of a bad bunch, malty one dimentional, sweetens up as it goes on, quite drinkable saves it. hopscotch (5543), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 3, 2003 Crystal clear amber ale with a large, frothy, khaki-colored head. Great retention and excellent lacing.
The nose is of toffee, caramel, buttermilk, grapefruit and white wine or a very dry port or sherry.
The flavor is a bit on the thin side, but has some nice caramel and butterscotch bursts. Well-balanced, but the malty sweetness wins out over the hops by only the smallest of margins.
Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Short, bitter, dry finish. Another great effort from the fine folks at Great Lakes!

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 26, 2003 This has a subtle malt aroma dominated by German hops. Glowing copper with a thin nougat colored head. The mouthfeel is fizzy and lacks complexity and balance. The finish was a sticky, stale bitter one. I'm wondering if maybe I got a bad bottle.
