Lagered touches of overripe red fruits and pears, with a drying waft of noble grassiness. White pepper. Toffee. Pristinely clean. Flavor of deep, toasty grains, slightly buttery, soaked in this calm, soothing fruit tone of blackberry and apple. Glowing malt characters arrange themselves with artful care and precision. Almost contemplative in its ease and simplicity. Like fresh baked wheat bread, buttered warmly and lightly spiced, and taken with a side of unsweetened cranberries. Medium body is generous and expansive in the mouth. Finishes very cleanly, with the lightest kick of noble hops drawing out. A smart, comfortable, pitch-perfect vienna. Thanks Bill! brewblackhole (1375), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 27, 2008 Bottle shared by aspidites, attractive clear, bright yet dark amber pour, but the rest was downhil. Very vegital in the nose, and it carried into the flavor. ilovedarkbeer (1365), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 18, 2007 Pours a rich amber color with a hoppy nose and thin reddish head. Nice taste that goes down easy and has a lasting finish. Hops are a bit weak in the taste but overall this is a decent beer. Lou18 (1353), West Paterson, New Jersey, USA

Nose is hops, but a bit nutty, and something else. The taste has nose buttery notes, I have to say, this was not the best from Great Lakes. nickd717 (1348), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 20, 2009 Bottle via trade. Copper color with a lasting white head. Aroma is sweet malt, grain, and brown sugar - not too pronounced overall. Flavor, however, is great, with caramel malt, nuts, brown sugar, and a little bit of citrusy/earthy hops on the finish. Smooth, creamy palate that’s fairly full for a vienna. High overall rating because it’s excellent for the style. fly (1332), austin, Tejas, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 7, 2004 Another in the line of "what the hell happened to my damn notes??" - that I can fairly clearly remember it attests to the quality of this fine brew. Superb roasty, toasty malt and excellent accompaniment in the bitterness. Me want more.
