| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Dec 19, 2004 I drank this a mere 12 hours after the "best by" date. Black cherry colored with a small, light-brown head that is mostly diminishing. Light brown sugar aroma, with sour grains and light citrus. Lightly bitter, with sour grains most prevalent, multigrain bread, and roasted nuts. Some slightly fruity esters. Very mellow, and quite possibly past its prime- though if it went south less than a day after it’s best by date, that’s pretty bad. Darkover (1313), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Interesting to see that this is the top-rated vienna. Good job Great Lakes. Darker amber color with medium off-white head. Aroma is very much caramel and noble, spicy hops. Flavor is along the same lines with some graininess as well. Medium to thin body and well carbonated. Not bad. zathrus13 (1300), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2009 Rich copper, barely tan head. Dry caramel roast aroma. Fairly full bodied, dry and dusty, though not like old stale malt, this is woodsy with a brown sugar finish. Maybe heavy for the style, but I enjoyed it.
