I think what I like about this beer is that it is quite original while maintaining it’s old school roots. nice. BOLTZ7555 (1121), Phoenix, Arizona, USA

Of late, I’ve noticed that many "amber" beers feel like they have to kick in an overwhelming amount of hops. With Lagunitas Lucky 13, I thought it worked. With Green Flash’s Hop Head Red, I didn’t. This one is a throw back to the traditional amber we all used to know and love. Red bordering burnt orange in color. Crystal clear, with impressive carbonation and an ivory head that leaves significant lacing inside of the glass. Aroma is toffee, caramel, and a hint of roasted nuts. Flavor is mostly malt, with just enough hops to balance it out. Highly drinkable...clean and refreshing. Wish this was available in AZ!!! ehhdayton (1115), USA

Pours out a nice clear amber with a thin two finger head. Aroma is nice and malty with a touch of bitterness. Taste is straight forward and very clean. Nice malty tastes with some good bite in there too. Drinkable 00cobraR (1103), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA

Aroma is sweet, malty and a bit fruity. Flavor is very much the same. I found it very difficult not to gulp this brew. Outstanding job! Sickboy282 (1101), San Diego, California, USA

Very nice finish....wow, I am not the biggest vienna fan, not to mention lager fan, but this is very tasty. MAP (1089), Lakewood, Ohio, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Feb 6, 2006 12 oz bottle: Medium copper w/ a lasting off white head. Heavy toasty malt aroma w/ some light caramel and the faintest hint of roast; clean! Well balanced, clean toasty malt flavor w/ a hint of caramel. Malt dominated flavor into the finish which is semi dry; aftertaste is a bit of bitterness, but again, clean. Fuller light body, medium carb., smooth. A good solid beer from GLBC. Flavorful enough to keep your attention and want more!
