Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

Dark amber color with a medium white head. Toasty, caramel malt aroma. Lightly sweet malts with notes of caramel, toffee, and toast. Well balanced by moderate hop bitterness. Finishes with some honey and light fruity sweetness. Very enjoyable.

Pours a dark "merlot" color. With a small white fluffy head. Aroma of light malt and spice. Flavor is deep and rich, malt. Alcohol and spicy hops also present. Palate is very full. A very nice brew!

Cloudy amber with tight cream head that fades quickly. Sweet malt aroma. Taste falls flat - old bottle. Need to re-rate.

Poured cloudy amber, orange highlights. Wispy head, ring of bubbles clings to edge of glass. Aroma combines caramel, light hops and some nutty roasty malt. Citrusy hops appear first in the flavour, caramel sweetness follows, finish shows some more of nutty malt. Very easy to drink.

this was some good stuff! nice reddish amber hue...small white head; aroma of caramels, sweet malts, fruits, and mild hops...flavor was a big surprise, and was huge in fruity malts, caramelized sugars, and light fruit...great mouthfeel

Bountiful, fluffy head with wonderful lacing throughout. Looks beautiful, clear amber color. Surprising hop aroma. Doughy flavor and a sweet, crisp finish. A touch of alcohol. Very enjoyable lager.
