Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

2/10/03: bottle. medium head when poured, lessening to a medium to small ring of carbonation. evident lacing. deep, sexy reddish- brown colour. sweet, malty nose. impressive palate. malty with some hops and subtle hints of floral. nice amount of carbonation left on my tongue. i’d love to find this one on tap. a good example of the reason for me falling in love with Amber back in the day.

Beautiful dark amber with a LOT of carbonation (up the whole glass, and stayed that way). Smells decent, not great. Taste is a bit on the sweet side, but not TOO much. Mouthfeel was a bit too heavy for my liking, making me wonder just how many I could have before I felt bloated (two). It's a drinkable beer, but not nearly as drinkable as some of the others in the Great Lakes line.

At Savor. Kick ass amber! Heavier than most vienna’s but who cares. Caramel and toffee throughout. Perfect malt/hop interplay with a tight slightly bitter dry finish. Yum

Getting notebook online. Bottle. Beautiful red amber with a creamy head. Crisp fruity nose. Taste begins with bitters with a sweet fruity finish. Enjoy this one with a pizza. Very good.

Didn’t like this as much as their other lager on tap, but it was pretty good. It does have a very smooth drinkability, and fantastic colour and aroma.

Bottle. Pours pefectly celar amber with a thin off-white head. No lacing. Aroma is potently malty, rich with some evident hop notes. Some spicy hops on the tongue, bready malt and a nice lingering bitteness. Quite good for a Vienna! Full bodied.
