Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

12 oz bottle. Pours copper with an average fizzy off white head. Smells of roasted grain and caramel. Some tastes of hops, but mostly roasted malt, toffee, and bread crust. Aftertaste is bitter. Nice body and mouthfeel.

Clear oarnge/brown. Rising carbonation, with a nice 2inch head. Sticky lace. Clean malty aroma with some hop spice. Smooth mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Medium body. Malty mouth. Clean malt flavors(caramel, toffee, cracker),with a nice balance of hops and malts in the finish. Little more comes out in the flavor than aroma. Another good, clean, balanced lager from Great Lakes.

Malty, grain, yeast, green olive and licorice. Not too much carbonation. Acidic with subtle sweet counterbalance and body is not too heavy. Even citrus. Many notes without being muddled. Not my thing but well made.

Bottle but I see from other raters can get this on tap, would like to have it on tape also and re-rate. Amber pour Lager, small head nice lacing but disappears quick. Malt and hops mix with a crisp kind of bitter sweet finish. Another from a sampler pack, would like to try this again.

Bottle. Aroma is some caramel and funk. A bit of bread. Pours a really nice shade of red. Taste is a whole lot of odd sweetness, some sweat, and a mystery fruit. It all seems to come together pretty well for what it is, with a strange dry aftertaste. Better than the last Vienna I had.

Bottle. Pours a nice rich dark amber color with a medium off white head. Very nice hop aroma. Taste of toasted malts with a hint of brown sugar. Finishes with a bit of caramel and hoppy bitterness on the after taste. A great beer from Great Lakes!

Lots of sweetcaramel malt go along with some floaral hops from this rich copper coloured beer. Nice malty toffee flavours with a good medium mouthfeel and lingering finish. Solid.
