Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

glbc. Pours a nice deep gold with a fluffy lasting head and great lacing. Aroma of nutty toasty and bready malts with a nice light metallic and moslty herbal hop character. Toasty malt flavors with light munichs or vienna malts, nutty, and biscuity with a slight sweetness and a great crisp bitterness. Nice and easy to drink.

Thanks to slikwily for this one. Pours cloudy copper to an ambered brown with a small light brown rocky head. Sweet malted barley with sugary notes and a hoppy nose with vanilla hints. Warm and sweet creamy caramel flavor greets your tonue with the first draw and leaves you with a creamy hoppiness. Medium-bodied and creamy/fizzy palate.

On tap at Capone’s during the Great Lakes tasting. Pours a lightly hazy golden with just hints of some amber and a medium foamy white lacing head. Aroma of citurs hops, kind of grassy, lemony, foral with more fresh hoppiness than I expected from the style. Flavor had a very intersting spiciness going on at first, bready, kind of earthy, yeast and tea.

Bottle. Thanks to jeffc666 for this! Lovely copper body underneath a foamy tan head. Nose is caramel, sweet malts, light hoppiness, and light toffee. Very nice! Taste is nutty and hoppy with some earthy notes, light caramel and sweet malts. Body is medium with lots of carbonation feel to it. Finish is very nutty and malty. Light caramel, hoppy earthy notes, and almost a wood-like finish. Nice!
