Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

The beer after seceding from the bottle pours a deep translucent burnished copper color, the head cyclopean in size, the texture spumescent and the color a resplendent light tan with the lace a glutinous sheet to eclipse the glass. Nose is a slightly musky with a big malt sweet backing and the start mildly sweet with a pleasing malt presence, the top moderate in its feel to the palate. Finish is pesky in its acidity, the hops bountiful and pleasing in their spiciness, droughty aftertaste that lingers long on the palate, a great beer from a great brewery.

Brownish red color, nice tal tan head that seems to be taking it's time to die down. The aroma is malty sweet, hoppy and some what citrusy.Nice flavor medium sweet, pretty hoppy but not in an over powering manner but quite pleasant.the feel is some what thin meaning a slight watery feel. This has a nice sweet malt hop after taste that has some decent lasting power.Really make me wish i had more of these brews. Thanks to Jskendzel for this one.

Dark amber with a small off white head...wonderful sweet malty, carmel, and toffee aroma. Smooth and sweet body of malt and carmel....very drinkable and well balanced, not overtly sweet. Great everyday brew.

Thanks to Secret Santa for this one. Pours deep coppery with 2-finger off-white head. Aroma of muffiny malts, caramel, toffee, some vinous notes, and some hopcitrus. The flavor is caramel malty, with some hopcitrus and vinous winey notes, along with some slight nuts and fruit.

Pours amber with a fully receding wispy white head. Aroma of toffee, caramel, and malty lager yeast. Taste of chewy caramel malt with bready yeast. Alcohol is somewhat noticable. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with dense carbonation. Reminds me very much of an Oktoberfest I just brewed, this yeast is very similar to Wy2308. Enjoyable.

355mL. Awesome. Poured a clear amber with an enormous yellow head that has awesome retention and leaves excellent lacing. Spicy rye aroma with some strawberries, All-Bran cereal, cream of wheat, caramel malt, cornbread, brown sugar....very earthy. Taste is excellent: massive hop backbone with rye toast, earthiness, buttered biscuit. A killer session beer! LIke drinking spiked brown sugar cream of wheat.
