Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

Good looking glass of beer-amber ruby hue with a fine head that left rings as it went down and a malty floral aroma. Smooth and medium bodied with caramel toffee flavors, a bready note to it like a honey bun and a subtle warmth. The finish was mild and bitter sweet. My aunt brought me this from Cleveland and when I saw what it was I told her I was going to take it out and dump it in the gutter. She almost looked offended until she "got it" ha ha. Good beer.

Pretty, clear mahogany with a yellow khaki head that builds up nicely but fades quickly. Toasted malty aroma is followed by a lightly sweet toast flavor with a bit of bright hop bitterness in the finish. Great Lakes really excels with its lagers.

Had this one on draught at Bennigan’s in St. Charles, Illinois. Nice, dark amber pour with a medium, fluffy white head. Medium mouthfeel. Nose of light, citrusy hops and bready malts. Some milk chocolate balanced with piney hops flavor. Balanced, clean finish. Very nice.

Pours a lovely amber with a nice head. Slightly hoppy, balanced with malt and a little bitterness. Excellent stuff.

Nice amber almost red color. Good head and aroma is full of caramel and other sweet smells. Very smooth tasting with caramel and nice malt flavors, would definitely recommend.

Some head with decent lacing. Dark orange-brownish body. Strong floral hop aroma belies a very balanced brew. Significant but not overbearing hoppy bitterness with a well-balanced chocolate malt presence.
