Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

I am not the greates lager fan, but this stuff is great. I have not had a sub-par beer from this company yet. Kudos to Great Lakes.

Brilliant. A deep orange amber color with a nice light tan head. Aroma is very malty along with the taste. Slight caramel that blends perfectly with the malt to give the impression you have just eaten a piece of bread right out of the oven. Along with Lakefronts Riverwest the best Vienna you can get in America.

This one poured a thick tan head over a very dark burgundy-hued body, witha malty, caramelly odor. Its tasty was fruity and complex... an excellent Vienna-style brew!

This beer has a very nice color and body, but a slim fading head. The smell and taste are sweet, with maybe some roast, and full of flavor on the palate. The aftertaste is bitter-sweet. A very, very good Vienna.

On tap at the brewery. Great reddish color. A little hop aroma but mostly malt. Sweet malty flavor with a very slight bitter bite. Great example of a vienna lager. Great summer beer with a nice dry finish.

Amber with big, creamy tan head / Light sweet malt nose / Medium, creamy body with lively spritz and fine, sweet finish / Flavors of malt and caramel with cotton-candy, burnt sugar finish, and balanced by surprisingly assertive hops / A superb example of this style.

Looks beautiful in a glass, a nice deep red. It’s hard not to want to put the glass on the windowsill as a permanent fixture to your home; but doing so would be denying yourself the pleasure of tasting this brilliant brew. The aroma is intoxicating; and the flavor is rich and full of malty goodness. Goes down easy.

This was in a great lakes variety pack, and I went into it thinking that I would "like" the beer, but not love it. I was wrong. This is a GREAT lager. I was surprised to see that this thing that came with variety pack was the top rated Vienna... Pours a nice amber, with a decent head that more or less lasts for the whole beer. Tremendous malts, clean taste, and noble hops on the back end. As one who normally finds lagers to be too "green" this one is as balanced as the day is long. Malts lend a full mouthfeel to this one. I will get this one again.
