Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

Ruby red in color with an off white head that is retained. The aroma is bready/malty. The flavor is sweet malt with light roastiness. Easy going drinker with quite good flavor.

Pours copper/amber, with a tan head. Aromas are sweet malt, caramel, and some fruit. Flavors are caramel, malt, and hops, with a touch of fruit.

[draft - 10th Annual PA Microbrewers Fest, Pennsylvania Brewing Co. - Pittsburgh, PA] Had to do a little research to find out exactly which Great Lakes Brewing beer I had. Poured a nice amber color with a thin and fizzy white head. Thick and chewy roasted aroma with a nice caramelly malt hint. Strong malt flavor with a good sweet touch of that caramel that I caught in the aroma. The sweet malts give way to a nice roasted finish with a clean aftertaste.

Poured a dark brown, with the aroma of caramel corn. Sweet with a toasted malt back. A little light bodied, but it just works. A classic lager. Thanks to OhioDad for the great trade.

a reasonable enough vienna, nice and malty lager with plenty of character. I think what I like about this beer is that it is quite original while maintaining it’s old school roots. nice.

A well made Vienna pretty much says it, I have liked everything I have had from this brewery. Page196 of Michael Jackson’s Great Beer Guide only 376 out of his 500 Classic Brews to go.

A beer that is much better drank cold. Started out with rich malts backup by strong german earthy hop pressence, very smooth, lots of caramel and cookie flavors... as it warmed it lost pretty much all hops and was overcome by almond and cookie flavors. Not bad warm at all but not as strong.

Clear amber brown with tan head. Aroma has a hint on cinnamon spice and even malt? Taste has that same spice flavoring with hint of hops for a dry finish. For style this is a great beer.
