Pour produced an average sized beige head that fell to a thin layer after a few minutes; fair lacing. Clear med-dark amber color. Aroma was a harmoniously layered complex of toasty caramel malt, floral hop nose, and some esteriness. It was marred somewhat by a subtle but discordant sulfury off-note. Flavor was a nice balance of bitter/sweet up front with some esteriness that emerged mid-palate. It finished with the same balanced bitter/sweet character accompanied by a pleasant yeastiness. A gentle but present hop character was evident throughout. Palate was creamy and medium to full bodied with a lively carbonation. A nice amber (Vienna) lager that was enjoyably crisp and refreshing and easy drinking. It had a definite American craftbrew character i liked that was manifest in its subtle but present hop flavor and aroma. My enjoyment of this lovely brew was only marred a bit by the sulfury not in the aroma though this off-note wasn’t apparent in the flavor. Thanks Drew! iwantalambic (1389), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jan 21, 2005 It has a tangy taste. Brilliant red color, bad atmittedly I picked it because of the color. Nutty complicated flavor. Fruity and nutty all at once. Thick palat feel in my opinion. agl108 (511), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA

Dark amber color with a creamy off white head. Aroma sweet, also some spiceness as well. Slightly floral scent. Head is soft and creamy. Taste is a bit sweet, some toffee and maybe caramel. Some fruitiness like apples. Tiny bit of hops. The mouthfeel of the beer is excellent. Definitely the best Lager I’ve had so far. wickedpete (629), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA

Dark amber color with a creamy beige head that doesn’t last long but leaves a thick ring at the edge of the glass. Aroma is light. Caramel malt mostly. Flavor has a velvety texture mingling with the heavy malt flavors, lightly balanced with hops. dankman38 (228), Somewhere in, Ohio, USA

If I were to describe this beer in two words they would have to be "fruity malt" then I’d add in words like carmel and hops, shortly after I’d add the question "Hey, can I get another?".
