Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

A very good vienna. Crisp, with a full flavor and nice color. Really a pleasant brew and easy drinking. Another worthy offering from Great Lakes.

This beer pours an amber color with tons of carbonation on the sides of the glass and a small head that oddly centers itself in the center. The aroma is not very strong but I can sense home hints of fruit and light malts. The taste is amazingly smooth and enjoyable. It's a little sweet and the carbonation makes it more interesting. The aftertaste is sweet, but reminescent of something earthy - can't pinpoint it. Very good beer. I could drink this one all night long.

Clear reddish amber in color, with a good white head that left some lace. The aroma is malt, reminiscent of pistachios, and spicey yeast similar to a bock, with a light floral hop fragrance. Taste is smooth toasted and nutty malt with some bitterness, this beer is clean and crisp. There is a nice balance of body and carbonation. A perfect beer for drinking all evening.

Bright golden brown in color with not much of a head. Souring aroma. Smells mighty malty, like a Marzen sans hops. Some brown sugar and maple syrup in the smell as well. Spice completion ignites the smooth, subtle flavoring. Nuts and caramel protrude. Much creamier than expected. Finishes like a cinnamon roll. Not very eventful, but good.

A very tight and well-balanced beer. Caramel malts and some crisp, floral hops are the main tastes. Taste goes malty, then hoppy, then malty again, and ends with a slight bitter and slight nutty taste. Very nice, very refreshing.

this being my third Great Lakes brew, im really starting to get a feel for these guys, and im loving them. This would be second next to the Holy Moses. Even though the moses rated lower than this, I personally loved it. I had this in a bottle. little hops present in this, but smells slightly sweet with a subtle sugary caramel aroma. Flavor has a sweet finish, but has a deep malt palate, and a sticky finish, medium bodied, by the way, dark amber in color. Well balanced. I enjoyed this beer alot. I will make a second purchase in the future. I chose this over the Sam Smiths Oatmeal Stout, I think that I made a good choice. but we will see. I think these guys may be better than Bells, but hey, thats just my opinion, take or leave it. Either way they are making theirselves known immensely in the midwest.
