Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

Amber in color with minimal head. Loads of malts with just a hint of balancing hops. Toast, caramel, noble hops and mild roasty aromas. Flavors largely mirror aromas with bread, caramel and roasted malt all discernable. Finish is neutral, leaning towards dry. Very nice, and thanks to PsychProf for sending this.

Huge light tan head. Clear dark amber. Sweet caramel aroma. Flavor moderatley sweet with the taste of caramel. Finish is mostly malt with a light bitter background to balance it out. Light to medium bodied.

The transparent orange color looks tasty sitting on the table under the lamp. I can smell the toasted malts, and they are the predominate early flavor, followed by a brief hint of sweetness hiding in the strong carbonation. There is a dry, bitter aftertaste which is not unpleasant and fades very slowly until my next sip.

Nose is nice rich brown sugar malt, hoppier than I expected. Very nice sweet rich malt. A little dusty. Brown sugar, plum, a little alcohol. Bitter at the back of my tounge. Damn fine

From bottle. Dark amber pour with tan head. Nose of caramel malts, spicy hops and raisin underneath. Flavor follows with some light fruits as well. Nice.

On tap, pours amber with a thin off white head. Both the aroma and the flavor of the beer is of malt and caramel. Easily drinkable and another solid brew from Great Lakes.

I grew up near the GLBC so I am very familiar with their products. I had Eliot Ness for the first time at a recent wedding that had a variety of GL beers. I enjoyed it the most out of what was presented. I nice smooth taste to it.
