Commercial Description:
Deep Amber red color, with a fragrant malt aroma. Flavorful notes of rich caramelized malt and noble hop flavors harmonize on the palate leading to a crisp clean finish. Named after one of Cleveland's most respected safety directors, who frequented the brewpub's bar during his tenure from 1935-1941 and, according to popular legend, was responsible for the bullet holes still evident today.

Bottled. Just a notch below the porter, this is very malty-sweet on the nose, spectacular-looking like the other 2 GL brews I tried, creamy, caramel and oaky on the tongue. Can’t wait until this brewery is more available to me.

Pours reddish copper with a small white head. The aroma is roasted malt with some clean caramel. It is medium bodied with a slick feel and medium/sharp carbonation. The tast is rich roasted caramel with a sharp hop bite. The taste is crisper than the description suggest. The finish is sour hoppy - the sourness seems right, not like something went wrong causing it. The finish becomes more of a clear bitterness further down the glass. Nice beer.

Amber copper colored beer. Very malty aroma. Carmel malts and mild hops make a nice aroma. Nice smooth flavor and a great malt sweetness. Again, carmel malts are taking the upfront possition with citrus hops sitting in the background. Nice clean beer.

Thanks to RagallachMC for the bottle. Clear orange/copper with almost no head. Aroma is generally light, with caramel and nutty malts. Some bitter taste comes in too. Especially at the finish. Medium body. Soft carbonation. Certainly better than average for the style.

Reddish amber in color with a nice persistent off white head. Good smell that has a balance of hop and malt. Nice hop bite in the taste that fades into a light malty sweetness.

This beer was mighty tastey! It was rich in an reddish coloured pour. Soft fluffy medium sized head with malty taste. Caramel flavor was prevalent, and it was a really filling brew.

A nice full body and color. Not a bad brew, interesting flavor and maltiness. Doesn’t produce an aftertaste, which makes it very drinkable and goes well with food.
