Noteable hop and grain aroma. Both bitter and sweet at the same time, wholly unlike ligher lagers or black lager- much richer. Tasting notes: Nuts, yeast, grain and a hint of brown spice; taste lingers well after the beer is gone. fredthecat (206), Canada

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 17, 2009 Enjoyed via draft and 12 oz bottle. Pours a light to medium copper color. Notes of Munich malt dominate the nose, almost rendering one the feeling of being in a pub in Vienna, or perhaps at some large festival eating bratwurst. Similar notes come through in the palate. A wondrous malt note - simple in terms of flavor, but extremely satisfying - comes through on the palate. This is easily the best Vienna Lager I’ve ever tasted, and, for the money, one of the best beers made in the United States. awharr02 (6), USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 1, 2008 Reminds me a lot of a Sam Adams... only slightly better. Pours a nice amber color with small head and decent lacing. Smell of hops and sweet malt are present. Mouth feel is quite heavy for a lager. Spicy and crisp hop finish with a bit of sweetness. switzer (22), USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 29, 2008 Bottle acquired via trade with polomagnifico...THANKS RYAN!!! This is a great beer. Of late, I’ve noticed that many "amber" beers feel like they have to kick in an overwhelming amount of hops. With Lagunitas Lucky 13, I thought it worked. With Green Flash’s Hop Head Red, I didn’t. This one is a throw back to the traditional amber we all used to know and love. Red bordering burnt orange in color. Crystal clear, with impressive carbonation and an ivory head that leaves significant lacing inside of the glass. Aroma is toffee, caramel, and a hint of roasted nuts. Flavor is mostly malt, with just enough hops to balance it out. Highly drinkable...clean and refreshing. Wish this was available in AZ!!! dornan23 (12), New York, USA
