Nose is banana, clove, brown sugar, plastic, some caramel & rich honey. Flavor is rich malt, clove, banana, more of that plastic (alcohol?), plums, raisins, dark fruits - almost dried figs. Hops come out in the finish. Nice enough but a bit sweet & lacking depth. jcr (1177), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 5, 2009 Bottle. Deep amber body with a big, but diminishing, off-white head. Spicy/fruit aroma of banana, clove, biscuit, wheat and caramel. Hints of orange, alcohol. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes the same. Tastes of sweet banana, overripe fruit. Slight lingering taste of alcohol and nail polish that drags this down a little. Medium body with a very smooth texture. Lively carbonation. Nice balance and complexity. Sammy (4038), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Poured an clear brown color with an average creamy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy tart citrus, banana and clove and alcohol aroma. Medium body with a smooth sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
Solid drinkable beer. BigBeer45 (702), Troy, Michigan, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Bottle, has a slight hazy red-ruby pour with an off-white one finger head that thins to a cover, the glass is full of effervescence, aromas of dark fruit (Plum and Raisin) with spice (Clove and others from phenols), bread, the flavor mimics the aromas, and gives a little pepper prickling on the palate, alcohol appears a bit as the beer warms, an ok drink. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 2, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Clear, deep amber and a creamy, but small, yellow/tan head settling to a fine ring. Banana and clove as expected, but there is some additional fruitiness, peach and apricot. Additional aromas of caramel and toffee round out the profile. Medium body, lively carbonation, crreamy mouthfeel, slowly drying palate. Malty sweetness up front, spicy bitterness starts coming through at mid palate. This holds up well against the better examples of the style. Smooth, easily drinkable, complexity that demands attention. TheBeerOrg (1584), Kentucky, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jul 1, 2009 Pours amber and lightly hazy with a mostly receding off-white head. Notes of spice (clove, nutmeg) plum, toffee, and bubble gum. Medium to full bodied with moderate carbonation. Very nice. Maddog (248), Kettering, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 30, 2009 I was pleasantly surprised with how good this beer was. Weizen Bock is not a style that I know much about, but this beer was good. The color was deep amber with a nice tan head that hung around a bit and the aroma was that of nutmeg. The flavors were big malt and spice with a nice hop presence throughout. I despise overly sweet, malty beers, but this beer was fresh, big in body and complex.
