| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 22, 2009 My Bottom Line:
Cloves and bananas float atop this Weizenbock’s caramelized cereals for a softly carbonated and lean example of the style.
Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam skirts the hazy dark amber.
-Carbonation could definitely be more effervescent.
-The flavor profile is not as complex as the best Weizenbocks out there.
-My expectations may have been too high for this brew as I usually love everything Great Lakes brews.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 22, 2009 Bottle ( 12oz ). Clear deep copper with an average frothy diminishing off-white head. Aroma is mostly alcohol, mild spice and vague fruit (raisin?) - slightly nutty. I quite like the taste - the alcohol is somewhat muted, and it’s fruity and spicy, dry roast, a bit floral. Light body and carbonation, with a smooth not-boozy finish, just a dry spicy afterlinger. Pretty drinkable. cbkschubert (2027), Cochise Co., Arizona, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby chestnut color with a medium sized khaki head that lingered. The aroma was malty, sweetish and had notes of banana bread, citrus and clove. The flavor was spicy and moderately sweet with notes of citrus, clove, banana and red wine. The finish was medium length and the body was thick and full. Well done. Svesse (2685), Hässelby, Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2009 (Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm) Deep amber colour with huge, frothy, beige head. Clear. Fruity, malty, slightly toasty nose with notes of orange, caramel, chocolate and lots of red berries. Rather toned down wheat character. Fruity, malty taste with chocolate, raisins and along come the characteristic wheat flavours with banana and clove. Fairly sweet and more than full bodied. A bit different, but tasty and nice. puzzl (2660), New York, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Bottled. Murky brown pour, fizzy head. Aroma of pinenuts, lemon, tar, wheat, bazooka joe bubblegum. Lively mouthfeel, grassy body, quite thick and yeasty, almost fleshy, with an oily, walnut finish. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 7, 2009 4-pack of bottles, one of which poured flat. Drink by 11/11. Pretty red/amber pour (not the color in the current RB pic), decent head. Banana aroma. Taste is actually lighter than I was expecting, perhaps a bit watery. Cocoa, plum, banana and a hint of anise. The 8% isn’t detectable.
