Bottle from coyotehunter. Thanks matt. Plum pinkish red with a small off white lace. Nose of banana, honey, clove, alcohol. Nice clean flavor; not dominated by one characteristic too much. Good weizenbock.

Appearance: Pours amber with almost no head whatsoever. Aroma: Fruity yeast, clove,candi sugar,perfume and flowers. Taste: Caramel,burnt sugar,banana,clove, and peppery hops. Mouthfeel: Thick and full. Overall: A great beer. I think it needs a head on it, but that’s getting nit picky.

Thanks turd for sharing. Pours a reddish copper orange with a light haze. One finger creamy yellow head. The nose shows banana/isoamyl acetate, sweet, spicy, weizen yeast, bready with some alcohol. Flavor shows clove, spicy, yeasty, bready, banana, mild sour wheat flavor. The palate shows spicy alcohol and a round smooth mouthfeel.

Pours a dark copper with a medium sized off white head that completely fizzed away in seconds. Smells like Granny Smith apples and bananas, some nutty malt, and a little dark fruit. Flavor is similar, and changes in the same order. Sweet and a little bit tart. Watery palate. Although it is before the expiration date, I can’t help but feel this is past it’s prime. I’ll have to re-rate eventually.

Deep copper pour with ruby highlights and a small off-white head. Some nice plum and fig notes punctuated by spicy, peppery Noble hops with hints of banana and clove. There’s also a bit of vegetalness there too. There’s a somewhat irony vegetal quality throughout that detracts from the soft dark fruit flavors. The flavor also has notes of ripe banana, spicy hops, pepper and clove. The body is creamy but a little thin for a weizenbock and heavily carbonated. Pretty decent stuff but by no means is this on par with Aventinus.

Bottle. Clear dark pumpkin colored pour, minimal carbonation and a nice aroma of spicy/sweet banana. Flavor was thick and sweet banana, pepper and plenty of mellow fruit on the finish. Alcohol was very well hidden for being 8%. Great lakes hits another homer on this one.

Copper color with a moderate, fairly fizzy vanilla folder colored head. Swells like a heavy weiss, with bananas, sweet wheat, malt-o-meal, bubble gum; just a rather heavy weiss scent. In some ways right and in a few others a bit too sweet. Fairly heavy, and nearly too "dead" a feel. I still like some zip in my weizenbock. Fruity and malty start, with marzipan and bananas. Middle has a bit of vanilla. A nice progression on tastes. A bit of lightly roasted nuts in the finish. I am reminded of beernuts.

Bottle. That picture can’t be this beer ... mine is reddish orange with a monster foam top. Classic weizenbock character all the way ... stark banana-clove aroma, nice esthery flavor, sweet and yeasty. Yummy yummy in my tummy. (#3626, 8/2/2009)
