The desription says it all, it really does. The color is the inside of a plum, the scent is spicy, cloves and banana. Guess what it tastes like, cloves and banana. Creamy as all hell, the lower levels of carbonation do this beer justice. It’s puts me into a beer nirvana that cannot be explained. I’m in love with this beer. Just a great collaboration of spiciness, banana, and a creamy mouthfeel. It’s been 3 years and is staying my only 5.

This beer is excellent. It has a gorgeous golden wheat color, with a beautiful foamy golden head. The head is creamy and pillowy on the palate. The body of the beer is thick and feels great on the palate, as well. The beer smells strong of banana, and spice, with wheat. The taste goes down smooth, and is very sweet but with just enough wheat and malt flavoring to remind you that it is beer. The aftertaste is creamy, and sweet. What a great beer. It would be tough to drink many of these. But if you are going to drink a beer that is sweet, ... make sure it’s this one.

This beer is near perfect. Very nice gold color with a light cream color head. Full bodied with an earthy grain flavor. Great malty smoothness with just enough of a sweet taste to make it interesting. Malty and sweet at the finish. Incredible beer for me.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 12oz bottle into a Weizen glass. Appearance: The body has a deep old copper/amber color. It is very hazy and it produces a small creamy, light tan colored head on top. The head slowly fades down to a thin ring of foam that makes a little slice lacing on the glass. Smell: Its aroma has big full nose of fruity and bready yeast with notes of banana, clove, toffee and fruited liquor. Taste/Palate: To start with this beer has a nice mellow warmth throughout from its 8%abv. It has a big fruity yeast character and full bready malt with plenty of sweetness up front. It has notes of ripe banana, golden raison, sour cherry and just a hint of toffee, clove and leafy hops. The hops add some light bitterness to the back end. The finish is bone dry and the palate is very smooth with a solid medium to full body. Notes: This was a very enjoyable Weizenbock. Its alcohol was very noticeable at first but mellows as you drink and as it warms.

Growler from Cliff. Pours a hazy amber with some brown hues. Lots of banana in the nose with just a pinch of clove. Doughy wheaty back bone as well. Bunches of bananas and clove with maybe a pinch of cinnamon as well. Full body with an above average amount of carbonation. Dry and spicy finish. Really damn good stuff.

Bottle. That picture can’t be this beer ... mine is reddish orange with a monster foam top. Classic weizenbock character all the way ... stark banana-clove aroma, nice esthery flavor, sweet and yeasty. Yummy yummy in my tummy. (#3626, 8/2/2009)

On tap at great lakes brewery on 9/19/2008. Very hazy yellow-orange color and a thin head. Beautiful looking beer. Aroma is a strong fruity spicy mix of yep, you guessed it, clove and banana. I smelled the some fresh wheat and dark blueberries in there as well. Flavor was top-notch. Great viscous beer covered all the areas of the mouth with a rich fruity flavor with a hint of spice. Definitely one of my favourites from Great Lakes.
