Sampled on draft at Smokin Joes this beer poured a dark amber color with a medium sized yellow-white head. The aroma was sugary, fruity and a bit boozy. The flavor was dryish, tangy and yeasty with a note of candied fruit. Boozy yet again on the taste and especially on the sharp and tangy finish. Ok.

Aroma of sweet candy sugar and molasses with some belgian yeasty spices. Taste is smooth with some earthy spices and bread and a good amount of carbonation. Not bad.

Approximately 4 oz. pour, on tap at the brewpub in Ohio City on 6-13-08. Pours a cloudy, orange-tinted brass. Small to moderate amount of creamy, off-white head. Good lacing. Sweet aroma features orange and lemon scents. Buttery, tart taste. Dry hops surprisingly noticeable. Full body. Quite good overall.

On tap at the brewpub. Poured a deep cloudy golden with a thin white head. Smells like a wit beer and amazingly tasted like a wit beer. Really is just like Holy Moses except a bit stronger and without the slight camomile hint. I can’t imagine why Great Lakes is calling this their Grand Cru.

6/02/2008: Great Lakes Grand Cru is like an "Imperial Belgian Wit" beer. It has a balanced fresh orange/tangerine and spicy corriander aroma and flavor like a regular Witbier, but is much stonger all around. It is also thicker, but still very smooth and easy to drink. It has a cloudy, deep dirty gold color with a small, frothy, off-white head. The body is medium-full and is it really smooth, mellow, and soft on the palate. It is pretty good overall, but not overly great or truly interesting...

Draught (pint) at GLBC in Cleveland, Ohio. Rating #20 for this beer...

Growler courtesy of goryshkewych. Pours a hazy amber with a nice white stubborn head. Smells of ginger, coriander, cloves, pepper, dough, some residual sugar. Tastes earthy with some dry malt, lots of spice, some touches of citrus. Nice, but I was hoping for a little more flavor to suit the nice nose on this beer.

Growler pours a amber/orange color that is very hazy with a white head. Has a nice orange aroma to it that I can smell every time I take a sip. Has a medium light mouthfeel that has a nice orange spicy taste to it. I am a huge orange fan so this grand cru is right up my alley. Overall this is a brew that not only my drinking buddy wanted to fill his glass with, but so did my non good beer drinking wife and his non beer drinking wife want this beer, too. Its very tasty.
