Lemon, clove, and light citrus flavor with a hint of pepper. A tad thin and watery but drinkable. illinismitty (1799), Nashville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Draft at Binny’s South Loop. Pours a hazy gold with a white head. Aroma of pot pourri. Light bodied with a refreshing texture. Flavor of flower petals, lemon, lavender, and coriander blended with pale wheaty malts. This is very heavy on the herbal traits and very unique, but not worthy of the shitty rating. I liked it, so everyone else can SMB. malrubius (1002), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 17, 2009 12 ounce bottle given to me by someone (gingerman guy?) at PilsnerPete’s gathering as I was leaving. Clear orange with ring a little lace. Aroma of grass hay flowers lemon hops. Fresh taste of apricot melon with mild herbal finish. Kind of overly sweet and gritty flower herbal, but not as bad as I’ve heard. There’s a well made beer under here somewhere. AGAquino (91), San Juan, Puerto Rico

I was in a hurry, saw Great Lakes and Saison - usually a great brewery and a palatable style, but when I got home and opened one. it smelled liked a $2 hooker.
The label also states the use of "composting", when combined with the words grass, roots, and chamomile - what part of these things make for good beer? satan165 (597), River Grove, Illinois, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 13, 2009 nose of candy sugar. flavor is strong sweetness and horrible vegetative flavor. raw asparagus comes to mind, as well as peas in a pod and green beans. nothing at all like a saison and nearly undrinkable, one of the worst products ever from great lakes. nqualls (1429), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

Glass: Poured into a plastic hotel cup. Appearance: Hazy gold color with a two finger white head. Aroma: Citrus and spices dominate the nose with a bit of sweet malt. Flavor: Funky flavor with lemons and grass. Sweet finish. Palate: Medium body with solid carbonation. Overall: Just something that didn’t taste good about this. Couldn’t put my finger on it.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2009 12oz bottle: Goldish yellow body with a frothy white head that settles into an everlasting, thin cap. The aroma is very herbal, bordering on vegetal at times, with mostly coriander and pizza spice (oregano?) coming through. Lemony hops compliment. Thin body is accented with peppery esthers and a sufficient amount of honeyed malt to balance. Finishes crisp with lasting spice finish. Good.
