A rare miss for Great Lakes. Very earthy, medium body, hazy, gets better around the 4th-5th one you drink if you can persist that long. The name is very indicative of the flavor. Not at all refreshing like a saison should be.

Appearance: Pours a yeasty, cloudy yellow gold with a decent gathering of white froth on top. Aroma: Breadiness and spice. Taste: Belgian yeast, a little bit of coriander or something mighty herbal, and a modest spicy hop finish. Mouthfeel: Medium bodied. Overall: Just average for the style. Not as refreshing as I would have liked it to be.

Courtesy of markwise. My first new Great Lakes brew in some time. crizay, where’s the hook up brotha? Sorry for off topic but crizay frikin’ ROCKS! Pours gold with off white head. The aroma is honey, some spices and chamomile. The taste first seems sweet and a bit honey like then layers of grain and earthiness hit about midway. Yum The chamomile is subtle and hanging out in the background. Yet another solid brew from Great Lakes.

Nose is chamomile, black pepper, floral hops, earthy, grains. Flavor is grassy, earthy, dirt, spice, bitter tea and mild caramel. The spice will get to you after a while.

Bottle from Weiland’s Market in Columbus, OH. Pours clear gold with a white head. Nose is light malt, herbs, chamomile, yeast, and pepper. Flavor is light malt, herbs, grass, pepper, yeast, and honey/ spice/ sugar. Sweeter than your average Saison, but still very good. Good summer beer or starter beer. Medium-bodied and quite good.
