Aroma is strong of wheat, some coriander, some fruit and an odd spice; all add up to kind of a sour smell. Flavor is great. Starts off with some floral hops bitterness moving into a great wheat sweetness and ends with the chamomile really coming through. I have never had chamomile in a beer but it really does complement the hops and style characteristics very well. Overall this beer is definitely unique in taste will be a consistent contender for fridge space, when in season. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jan 11, 2009 Slightly hazy blondish golden coloured body with a small white head. Aroma of corn, curacao, coriander seed and some wheat. Medium to Light-bodied; Sharp bitter taste of wheat, strong yeast and way over-kept chamomile tea. Aftertaste shows the bittering tastes through, with some light curacao taste and a small freshness from the wheat. Overall, way too bitter and WAY WAY WAY too much yeast and sediment in the bottom of the bottle...literally 30 millilitres of sediment in the 33 cL bottle. I sampled this bottle purchased from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 07-April-2006 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. smooch (112), Sylvania, Ohio, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 4, 2009 Tasted side by side with Bell’s Winter White. A lighter appearance and a little nose with very delicate flavors. It made me check the bottle to see what was in there because it was so subtle. Drinkable enough, but unspectacular. kseecs16 (907), Naperville, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 14, 2008 Bottle. Poured a straw colored gold with a thin whispy white head that clings to the edge of the glass. Aroma has hints of rich clove, coriander and lemon. Mild flavored with sweet caramely body that is slightly toasty with citric notes. Surprisingly full mouthfeel that is creamy with a nice lively carbonation and pleasant lingering tartness. Interesting wit. jspruit (113), Dublin, Ireland
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 7, 2008 Poured out of a 12oz bottle as a hazy yellow with a bit of yeast sediment. Not a large head, sort of looks like a Bells Oberon Ale, just not as orange.
The smell is very crisp and nice, sweet, a bit citrusy, and smooth too. A bit like a spiced wheat beer.
Tastes just likes it smells and very refreshing. Wheaty and citrusy at the same time with some sweetness, although I really do not know if I detected the chamomile as described on the bottle. Definitely a very pleasant well balanced wheat beer that almost is bit Belgian.
Slightly carbonated but goes down quite smooth and not too strong. Could definitely drink more of this.
Overall, it is a very nice beer from pour to aroma to tasting and finishing. I drank this in the colder part of the Irish winter and it went down well and I could imagine that it would be nice on a summer day too. I willl definitely recommend this and try it again, well done Great Lakes Brewing Co. jimmack34 (570), Lancaster, Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 18, 2008 bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow with soft foamy head. Smells citrusy, maybe a little more like lemon than orange, with hints of spice and kind of grainy. Tastes of maly wheat, grains, spice, floral, and some citrus. Balances out some by a little hops. Very good beer. masonjer (564), Holt, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 27, 2008 poured hazy yellow out of the bottle. Aroma was soapy with yeast and sweet banana. Taste is yeast, sweet wheat and medicinal bitterness on the end. Not a bad example of the style. noncaloric (625), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 16/20 | Oct 25, 2008 Updated: Mar 9, 2009Aroma isn’t that strong, but has a nice yeasty funk with lemon zest and grassy hops around the edges. Pale straw-yellow pour, curtains of sediment falling while a big white head blooms and fades to leave abundant lace. Flavor is also yeasty, other components are there, but well harmonized with the yeast, raw sugar, gumball, apple cider. A little peppery warmth on the palate, but otherwise thin, but still a really nice wit.
