Aroma of malt, some honey and hops. The flavor is very sweet, honeyish, and has a balance of malt and hops. The body is medium with a creamy texture and medium carbonation. It’s an interesting beer, but I just didn’t like it that much. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 22, 2009 Bottle. It’s a clear, golden beer with and off-white, finger-thick head leaving some lacings. Malty, beef-stock like nose with piney and grassy hops. Sweet, malty flavor with a pleasant hoppy flavor of pinecones and grass. Full-bodied with maybe a bit too much carbonation. Nice bitterness in the finish, and a fine, sweet maltyness. There’s not much resemblance of lager beer in it, but it’s a fine one. (090520) gunnfryd (3539), Kristiansand, Norway Jul 20, 2009 bottle. Deep golden colour with an off-white head. Aroma is malt, fruit, hop. Flavour is peaches, grapefruit, malt, hop, fruit. Medium to full body. Nice beer. TheOrange (405), Kent, Ohio, USA Jun 8, 2009 The pour is deep golden with a small bublle off white head. The aroma is citrusy hops. The flavor is deep hops, with only slight citrus and pine overtones. The finish is long syrupy. The beer is full bodied, but highly carbonated. A good beer, but I guess I was hoping form more from GL. marchcow (664), Coralville, Iowa, USA Jun 8, 2009 Slight lemon, flower, and fruit juice and vanilla cake aromas. Slightly opaque golden yellow body with decent off white head. Flavor is malty, with some bisquit, some light citrus, slight cheesy yeast flavors, and slightly bitter finish with a good sweet balance. Palate is even with a bread like duration and with a slight fruity and spicy finish. Pretty good and drinkable would pair well with food. BuckeyeSammy (454), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Apr 18, 2009 Didn’t realize i hadn’t rated this one yet. Love to see GL trying something new. Nicely hopped, thick palate/mouthfeel. Although the alcohol isn’t very present, Something about the flavor leads me to believe this one is more than 7.5. Could be that its slightly over-malted. I really enjoyed this beer. Gotta love great lakes. esjaygee (1467), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Apr 10, 2009 Orange with a large frothy medium taupe head that fades away slowly. Aroma of earthy hops, pale malt, dough and a bit of must. Taste is of bready malt, toffee, earthy hops, sugar and a hint of dust. Finishes up earthy, dry and peppy with some alcohol evaporation noticeable on the tongue.
