Sep 4, 2008 Clear golden pour. Aroma of floral hops, especially when first poured, and sweet malt. Flavors of sweet grassy malt and some nice bitter dandelion hops. I find this to be a pleasant mix of sweet and bitter flavors that is quite refreshing.

Sep 3, 2008 Bottle. Does everything have to be "imperial" now? Pours with a nice off-white head, amber body, good lacing. Smells like a maltier version of the Dortmunder Gold. Too sweet, almost cloying, with an otherwise similar flavor profile as the Dortmunder Gold. Bad idea.

Sep 3, 2008 12oz bottle labeled BB 10/06/08. Poured a deeper golden color with a smaller sized white head. Aromas of doughy bread, cereal, grass, and some honey. Tastes of biscuit, honey, light grass, grains, and caramel. Alcohol content well hidden. This one pleasantly surprised me...

Sep 1, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep golden with a nice lively carb, and frothy cloudy white head. Aroma is tangy sticky honey, floral, honey malts, deep toasted vienna sweetness and some nuttiness. Sweet vienna and lager malts, lots of toast with a ligth creme brulee caramel sugar, custard and doughiness. Finishes pretty smooth with just a hint of that wierd tangy offness from strong pale lagers. Better than expected though.

Sep 1, 2008 12 oz bottle. Clear apple juice with a puffy bone head. Nose is honey, dough and hay. Kind of chewy; oily with a muted tingle. Taste is sweet lemon peel with an odd, spoiled fruit bitterness. I sort of get this but its not for me.

Aug 31, 2008 Bottled. Poured deep gold, with a yellowish-tan head. Malty nose, a bit of floral hops and spice. Flavor was sweet malt, alcohol, floral hops. Finish had a bit of hop bitter to it. I liked it, though lagers are not my favorite style.

Aug 31, 2008 So, I’ll be the first Clevelander to say that Great Lakes can be hit or miss me. But this one is a solid middle-of-the-pack offering. It has a grassy aroma with hints of spice and banana. Its a clean golden brew with a thin head. Flavor is a crisp, but not great. Taste is somewhat underwhelming, grassy sweet with a small bit of bitter funk.
