Aroma of lightly toasted cereal grains, malt sweetness, fresh noble hops, honey and lightly bready. Flavor of a sweet cereal grain sweetness, light citrus, noble hops and lots if em. I like their dortmunder and this is a nice imp version of it. robinvboyer (1444), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Dark gold color with small diminishing white head and little lacing. Dortmunder is good, but Imperial Dortmunder is much better. Everything is stronger, from its great malty flavor to its sweet hops. Very drinkable 1FastSTi (2590), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 21, 2008 I’m going against the grain, but I quite liked this one. It pours to a dark golden amber/copper body with a thin white head. Nice glowing vibrancy. The aroma is doughy and hearty breads with a nice subtle leaves and noble hops. The flavor has an intensely caramelized bread dough, cookies, and subtle bitter grassy hops. Nice malt profile. Comes off as having a nutmeg or mace. Creamy light bitter palate is a bit too carbonated and too bitter. Awesome beer, however.
