Small beige and thick head that mostly lasted. Cloudy amber color. Fair display of lacework. Aroma of pine, grapefruit, citrus, caramel, spice and some fruit. Full bodied with a very dry texture and an average carbonation. Moderated to heavy bitter flavor with good counter sweetness. Dry and bitter finish. It went well down with the burger that I had. 31-08-2007 Papsoe (15097), Frederiksberg, Denmark

Fat aroma of citrus and oily hops. Quite full-bodied with sweetish caramel, spicy with a very hoppy finish. OK if not exactly outstanding. 310807 kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

hand bottled from a growler, hazy orange, sudsy head, earthy hop aroma, a bit thin, bitter hop flavor, big oaky character, a touch of piney sweetness, after warming (and recovering from last night’s hangover) the aroma picks up a nice light piney sweetness, good pine and bitter start to finish

Good hopping, powerful and resiny, a bit fuity (bitter oranges); but the sweetness and malt flavor are not enough for me; there is also a light vegetables touch. Good. fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA

Very sweet there and in the flavor too. The bitterness in the flavor moved a little more toward the grass and flower flavors. Very nice beer. Thanks Dave. jimbowood (956), Athens, Georgia, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 29, 2007 Pours copper, very cloudy with color-strings of varying browns, like melting straw or grain. Modest carbonation supports a small beige head that dwindles slowly and never fully. The aroma is highly hoppy with notes of pine, grapefruit and sour mango and lesser other tropical notes. Malt is a force too, bready and caramel-laden. Alcohol is monstrous and ethanol notes burn the sinuses. The flavor is very highly astringent and ruined by hop overkill. Citrus and pine are pervasive and unrelenting. Acidity is medium-high to high, sweetness cloying at times. The malt doesn’t stand much of a chance even though it’s hefty; this seems horribly overattenuated. Finishes semi-dry, bitter and astringent, drying moreso with each sip. I couldn’t finish it. The mouthfeel is medium-full to full bodied, brackish, with biting carbonation, earthy and herbal resiny notes lingering. I looked forward to this for a long time only to find great dissapointment. It was a fresh bottle, so that wasn’t the issue. Astringency was the main culprit is my disdain for most of the flavor. This beer didn’t agree with me at all.
