Delicious beer sampled on draught at the brewpub, on a cold winter’s night. A very warm, and soothing pint. This beer pours to a deep amber, to light brown color, with a thick, white head, and a soft carbonation. Lots of good sweet malt and caramel in the nose, with hints of peppery alcohol. The palate is rich and full. Good, hefty, body with good sweet and caramel malt, with a touch of estery fruit. This beer ends malty and sweet, and finishes with a nice, soothing burn. Nice after dinner pint, and a great beer to sip with a good desert. Impressive beer.

See through brown with a touch of amber to it, fluffy white head pretty thin. Great malty flavor with some sweetness of caramel and maybe a little nutty also, pretty roasty, there was an alcohol touch to it as well that left me saying damn this beer kicks ass, and it is now 8.3%

growler from miketd: pours a nice nutty brown colour with a good 1/2 inch tan head that resides on the sides of the sides of the glass. lots of nutty aroma and great bread too, decent caramel and just a hint of fruity hops and smokiness. a very nice blend of all th components i mentioned. the flavour is alot of bread and nut teh hops come through at the end with a good fruitiness to follow that. the caramel is sweet but not cloying. palate is smooth. another great beer from Gl. thanks a ton mike for letting me try this one. i owe you!

Damn good. Cloudy orangish color. Aroma has tropical fruit, hops and caramel. Flavor has citrus, hops, caramel and brown sugar.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber, medium white head. Aroma is very malty with caramel. Full palate, taste starts off sweet with caramel, and finishes with a slight burn, finish is fairly dry. Good, but not the best of the style.

Smooth caramel, medium roasty flavors that kind of took the place of any hop presence. Nice smooth and thick body. One of the more enjoyable Scottish ales that I've tried.

I just had this on tap. Great stuff! Smooth caramel like flavor. A great beer to drink slowly and appreciate its rich flavor.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark copper with very little head. Aroma is biscuit, caramel and some subtle fruit. Flavor is very malty, but has some nice hops in the finish. Not bad, but not great.
