Pours a dark copper/brown colored brew with a thin off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of roasted dark malt, wood, a touch of vanilla and sweet pear. Taste is medium bodied, flavors of roasted dark malt, chocolate, sweet pear and a touch of vanilla. Finish is semi-sweet with a lingering pear/chocolate aftertaste with no bitterness. Quite interesting. JK (2955), Richfield, Minnesota, USA

It should probably be a fruit beer, because the pear is prominent. Pear in the aroma and flavor. Sweet with some sugar, but not like canned pears, which I expected. Light brown color. A similar flavor with a dry oatmeal character to it. The pear was superbly done in this one.
