Commercial Description:
This is a full bodied oat stout. Whole malted oats are used for 10% of the grain bill. Roasted barley from the United Kingdom and chocolate malt make up 10% and the rest is two row barley. The whole oats leave behind a slightly nutty flavor. The coffee and chocolate flavors come from the roast and the chocolate malts.

On handpump at the brewpub on 05/31/2009. Very dark black body with a medium frothy tan head. Roast, chocolate and light molassas aroma. Chocolate flavor with roast, molassas and a bit of yeastiness. Medium body with low carbonation.

Cask at the brewpub. Pure black pour with a medium size brownish tan head. Faint aroma of chocolate and coffee. Rich milk chocolate flavor with definite notes of coffee and roasted malt. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel.

Dark chocolate in the aroma with strong coffee mixed in. This is my first cask drawn poor. Pretty impressed. Extremely creamy head and body. Light sweet initial flavor with a slightly bitter finish. Average duration with a medium to full body. Creamy texture with soft carbonation.

Darker’n a black steer’s tookus on a moonless prairie night. There was no bottom. Maybe an inch or so of soft and foamy brown head. Pretty good ringlets of lace. Moderately sweet chocolate malt and some roasted grain in the aroma. Flavors come through with lightly roasted grain (not harsh or overly bitter), a touch of sweet chocolate, and a medium-roast coffee. Nice blend of flavors, they seemed a perfect match for the smooth texture. Nothing overpowering, gently carbonated, medium bodied. Mellow, tasty, and satisfying.

Woooo, ol GW does it again. Had a couple of thesse last night. Nice malty flavor, great smell of coffee and coco, nice and thick and smooth, big foamy head too. Coupled with the fact that these were only 1.80 a pint during happy hour adds up to great things!
