Backlog: On draught during the Winterfest 2009 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Pours a clear dark copper amber colored brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a film top. Aroma of Belgian yeast, candi sugar, tropical fruit, some Christmas potpourri, and raisin. Taste is medium to full bodied, smooth, with flavors of Belgian yeast, some clove, coriander, a touch of apple and candi sugar. Finish is semi-sweet, alcohol bite with a slight apple, raisin aftertaste.

TAP: at Great Waters, 2/20/09. Pours dark/red, very little head. I get chocolate on the nose, but others disagree, plus some wine. Taste is plum/grape, coriander, malt. Very good beer.

Winterfest 2009. One of the many beers in the greatly improved, and interesting, Great Waters lineup. A thick, malty Belgian ale true to style. The flavor and aroma are just like the description says. Sweet and malty, some dried fruit and a little apple, but in a good way. Dark, some sugar.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep amber pour with no head. Aroma of plum, coriander and belgian yeast. Similar flavor of dark fruit and more prominent spice. Nice carbonation, though slightly watery finish.
