Commercial Description:
Slightly full bodied rich brown ale. Caramel chocolate maltiness in this satisfying dark ale is a year round favorite.

On tap at brewpub, rating two days later from growler. Standard brown ale color that is watery at the edges. Minor caramel aroma, but mostly nil. Flavor watery brownale, medium malts. Body middling fair, easy finish, very slight bitter finish. Overall, not bad. Good late-session beer.

On tap at the brewpub. Cloudy dark amber color. Not much aroma. Medium body. Fine fizzy bubbles. Could there be gypsum in this? I always feel a little guilty in rating abrown ale, as I never seem to like them by style, so don’t put much stock in this. Perhaps I should learn how to appreciate this type of ale?

Clear, light brown color, adequate head. Aroma, mild, to put it best. Taste, nuttiness appears on the palate, but minimal, body is light-to-medium, finish is short, but sweet. Decent, but too hollow, flat and grainy, far too close to the "mild" style, that’s just not for me. Too absent of flavor, texture, body, etc. Probably not meant for me, I must admit...they can make bigger, bolder, darker brews here, and this is not meant to be one.

Sample at the brewpub. Dark, nearly opaque brown...light pecan aroma. Taste lightly malty, nutty, bit salty, sweet in the middle, quite dry to finish.

Brown Coloring. Sweet and nutty... a very average brown ale...certainly not a bad one.

Foggy brown with some head. The "hint of" and "lightly" from the description sound about right. Everything is very average. It has all the hints of great brown ale (malt, nuts, sweetness), but just never pushes those flavors.

Light golden color. A newcastle clone, with less body. nothing bad, not much to enjoy.

This is a very average brown, but needs some, no, alot of help. The color is a hazy light brown with a amber tint, some head stuck around and was very lightly laced. This had no real smell to me. Very light of a hop presence. Taste is watery, clean, and smooth. With a light hint of hop and malt, not much to it. Felt very empty. Drinkable, sure, so is water.
