beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Jul 1, 2003 On Cask: Super nice deep copper color with a inch high head of dark creamy puffy oatmeal, settles slow to a nice ring and lace in tiny rings and spots. Smell is dullish fruit salad, peach, melon, and grapes, with a slight note of fresh floral hops. Taste is quite mellow, slightly sweet malts and gringy hops that favors floral freshness and piney bitterness thats very subdued. Feel is a bit empty, thin start leading to medium-light body and a bit of a light grainy texture, weak finish for a ESB, no strong bitterness, slightly lingers of what it does offer. Another Great Waters brew that needs a pep. jazz88 (2206), San Francisco, California, USA Oct 7, 2002 Tap - Cask. A hazy amber color. A traditional ESB. Nothing special stood out and it lacked the beauty of the Martin’s Bitter.
