Commercial Description:
Translation from the label. "Already in the 17th century lobster from Bohuslän was sent to The Royal Court in Stockholm. Our swedish lobster hav ethroughout the centuries defended it's position as a delicacy worthy kings. Just in time for the lobster season has brewmaster Robert Bush - Grebbestad Bryggeri along with sommelier Niclas Pihl - Restaurang Sjömagasinet and the Swedish Lobster Academy created a beer, HUMMER. The beer is especially suitable to lobster and other seafood. The brew is limited to approx. 20000 bottles. The hand crafted HUMMER is a full malt beer. Among the malt varieties used is, alongside pilsner-and caramell malt also wheat malt, which gives HUMMER a soft and fresh character with some acidity. The German hop variety Perle and the American Cascade is in hormony with the flavour of seafood." NB. Hummer is swedish for lobster.

Definitely not a bock! This is supposed to go well with shellfish (Hummer means ’lobster’) and it does! A very well-crafted product!

Golden colour with a dense rocky white head. Attractive aroma of herbs, citrus and toffee. Malty flavour of grass, honey and bread. Nice hoppy finish with notes of citric fruits. A very nice pale bock. To bad it's so rare. Thanks to my friend Jeppe for bringing me it.

Re-rate 2002 version: Golden. Fruity, malty and slightly peppery nose. Sweet and complex, really well hopped, citrus aroma. Bitter finish. 5.5% but feels bigger.

Tasty malts, some sweetness at the start, ever so slightly honeyed flavour, but it dries out towards the end, some very floral, softly bitter hops at the end aswell (got some citrus, pine, maybe some tropical fruit), and softly herbal finish, well balanced, beatutifully tasty, and beautifully soft. Delish.

This beer has a lovely aroma of sweet malt and hops with notes of oranges. Mine was a slightly hazy orange with a beutiful though collapsing head. Maybe the hazyness is because mine was somewhat out of date. Lovely flavor of malt sweetness blending very well with aroma hops. It has notes of lemon and oranges. It ends on a slight bitterness that lingers - a really well done beer. Many thanks go to Per.

Odd, thing about this beer, on the first sip I tasted the Cascade, not in an overwelming fashion, but by the end the Cascade was over shadowed by the malt. Light yellow color, sweet, malty, slighty piney aroma. Mostly malt flavor, but the Cascade is there for the tasting. Unusual bock, due to the hops, but one I really enjoyed. Many thanks Per.

[2002 vintage] The hops and the malt are very evident in this brew. It has a slight sweetness and notes of honey in the aroma. The finish is bitter and refreshing.

Light bronze; dry grains and alcohol predominate. The body has a vibrancy that I enjoy. Tasty pale bock.
