Very strong aroma: barley wine, coco. Very sweet syrup - like warm toffee sauce on ice cream. Super smooth, very sweet, and like many super sweet beers, I find it lacks some complexity. Close to copper-coloured, quite limited head. Fat body, very malty with a pronounced hoppiness. Very close to an original German doppelbock. Delicious. 020603 Jeppe (2638), Ølbutikken, Denmark

Sweet and fruity in the aroma with some nice malt notes. Has scents of alcohol. Flavour is sweet and has notes of marcipan. Alcohol obvious and some fruitcharacters. Is sweet and fruity in the end. Is in the light end of the dobbelbocks with its somewhat bland flavours and aroma. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA

Minimal head comes from this clear deeply rubied brown beer. Rich malt with brandy soaked fruit in the aroma.
Light on the tongue, this starts with some sweetness, not too overpowering, and slowly fades into a long finish with most of what it started with. A bit more maltiness, body and a better job of hiding it’s alcohol would improve this, but quite drinkable just the same. Nate (2562), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
