Bottle, 2008 vintage, purchased at Systembolaget Karlstad in September 2008. My last review here wasn’t that serious, so I decided to rewrite it from scratch. Pours a deep ruby red color with a small, dying head. Amazing color anyway. Aroma is vinous; notes of port wine, dried fruits, toffee, liquorice, slightly nutty. Damn good aroma imho, very appetizing! Flavour is sweet, malty and vinous; dried fruits, toffee, port wine & (sweet) liquorice. Palate is filling, fullbodied, smooth, a bit oily even. Carbonation is soft. Overall a very nice sipper. I gave this 4.0 in September but this is even better than that! An amazing doppelbock, and overall one of the best Swedes all categories!

Had this in Duvel glass from 33cl bottle. Heavy malty nose with lots of roasted bread, milk chocolate and some coffe. In the second wave there was a overall feel of Surdough, hints of honey, cherry, raisin and grape. Medium body, a bit watery and a little oily texture. A good doppelbock that still is improving. Nice. Cheers.

Bottle shared by maxxdaddy. Deep amber beer, creamy head. Aroma is kind of herbal and spicy. A bit fruity and lightly sweet. Caramelly and sweet with a lightly oxidized character. A bit of sherryish sweetness over a deep rich maltiness. Chewy and a little bit fruity.

Thanks to Maxxdaddy for sharing. 12 oz bottle. Pours a slightly hazy deep orange with a slight foamy diminishing head. I get a lot of salty oxidation- good amoutns of sherry ox, and some ok wierd salty sweetness in the aroma. Flavor is also salty, oxidized and a bit meaty with a slick sweetness, and a dull drying toastines in the end. Either not good, or just past its prime (by quite a bit).
