RBESG 2006 Grand Tasting. 2000 vintage, ABV is 8.1%. Hazy brown colour, low head. Surprisingly pale for a doppelbock. Sweetish bakery aroma, some alcohol. Flavour is cloying malty sweet and one-dimensional. Disappointing. Drank it too warm though.

[1999 bottle RBESG 06] Rich malty nose, sherry notes, raisin aromas, perhaps a little tobacco? medium to full bodied, sweet upfront, dry. (newer bottle sweeter, not as complex though slightly fulled body 3.4)

(1999) Seriously nutty aroma with some light sherry notes from the aging and quite complex. The taste is far lighter with notes of wheat, but a good finish.
